｜Yehliu Geopark

CNN has reported on the unique beauty of "Yehliu Geopark," describing its geology as comparable to outer space and the most Mars-like rock environment on Earth.
A visit here allows you to see numerous strange rocks and beautiful stones, including the internationally renowned "Queen's Head," as well as must-see sea erosion wonders like "Ice Cream Rock," "Honeycomb Rock," "Ginger Rock," and "Candle Rock." Coming here, you will truly be shocked by such rich geological and topographical landscapes and marvel at nature's craftsmanship!

Coupled with the surrounding rich marine ecology and fishing village charm, Yehliu has become a tourist attraction with educational, sightseeing, and recreational functions. Additionally, during the Jinshan Cihu Temple Mazu Pilgrimage return in May each year, the procession visits the sea cave at the Yehliu Cape where the deity was originally discovered by fishermen. The mighty escort team passing through the Geopark is a very special sight.
Getting to Yehliu Geopark is actually very simple. Just take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle "Crown Northern Coast Line" in front of MRT Tamsui Station and get off at the Yehliu Geopark stop for a quick and easy arrival. The Crown Northern Coast Line is also one of the free transportation routes included in the Fun Pass!

  • Please do not touch any artworks or pedestals unless specifically marked otherwise.
  • Standing on artwork pedestals is strictly prohibited.
  • In indoor galleries, please do not cross the gray viewing lines on the floor.
  • Flash photography, tripods, and selfie sticks are prohibited in indoor galleries.
  • The use of drones is prohibited throughout the museum grounds.
  • Please refrain from shouting, running, jumping, or activities that may disturb others, such as kite flying, inline skating, or ball games.
  • Outdoor plants are for viewing only. Do not touch or consume them to avoid allergies or poisoning.
  • Lawn Opening Period (May–Oct): You are welcome to use the lawn, but please avoid damaging it or disturbing others (e.g., using strollers or wearing stilettos). Maintenance Period (Nov–Apr): Stepping on the lawn is prohibited. (Subject to on-site announcements).
  • Fire and cooking activities are prohibited; eating and drinking are prohibited in indoor galleries.
  • Smoking is prohibited, except in designated smoking areas.
  • Chewing betel nut is prohibited throughout the museum.
  • Pets are not allowed (except guide dogs), except during special pet events hosted by the museum. A free pet room is available at the Service Center.
  • For purposes of documentation, education, archiving, promotion, and public service, the museum may conduct photography or filming and use or authorize third parties to use such content. If you do not consent to your personal image being recorded or used, please inform our staff before entering.
  • Please follow on-site announcements and cooperate with the guidance of museum staff.
