︱Maokong Gondola: Gaze at Taipei 101 and enjoy 360-degree views of the Taipei skyline
The Maokong Gondola is the first cable car system in Taipei City. It utilizes an automated circulating system produced by the French company POMA. The total length is 4.03 kilometers, with a one-way trip taking approximately 30 minutes. There are four stations along the route for passengers to board and alight: "Taipei Zoo Station," "Taipei Zoo South Station," "Zhinan Temple Station," and "Maokong Station."
The three most beautiful moments to ride the gondola are amidst the mist after rain, during the glow of sunset, and while taking in the dazzling night views. As you board the gondola and travel along the undulating mountain terrain, you can overlook the moving MRT trains, the riverside parks along the Jingmei River, and the iconic "Giraffe" incinerator chimney. Upon reaching Angle Station 2, the gondola makes a sharp turn, offering a wide-open vista of the highway traffic below. After passing Zhinan Temple Station, you will enter a steep V-shaped incline—the highlight of the journey—creating a truly memorable experience.
